Update mailboxes

Email settings after server migration

After the server migration, the email settings on your devices must be adjusted. Only the incoming and outgoing mail server (host) and your password will change.

New server settings

Inbox (IMAP)mail.agenturserver.dePort 993 (SSL/TLS)
Authentication:
“Password”
Outgoing Mail (SMTP)mail.agenturserver.dePort 465 (SSL/TLS)
Authentication:
“Password”

Preliminary notes:

  • Username is your full email address.
  • In addition, only the password needs to be changed twice:
    – for receiving (IMAP) and
    – for sending (SMTP).
  • POP3 mailboxes (instead of IMAP) also work. Use Port 995 instead of Port 993 in the instructions below. Retrieving emails via POP3 is generally no longer recommended in most cases today. IMAP is the better choice.

Step 1: Change password (webmail)

Be sure to change your temporary password first via the webmailer (GDPR):

  1. Open the webmail client: webmail.webspaceconfig.de
  2. Log in with your email address and the temporary password
  3. Click on Settings (gear icon)
  4. Select Password
  5. Enter the old (temporary) password and your new password
  6. Save the change

Tip: Until the settings have been changed on all devices, you can read and write your emails directly in the webmail program.

Problems?

If the emails are not working, please check:

  • Is the password correct? (Pay attention to capitalization)
  • Have both servers been changed mail.agenturserver.de? (Previously, it said, for example, “sslin.de” and “sslout.de”)
  • Are the ports correct? (Incoming: 993, Outgoing: 465)
  • Is SSL/TLS enabled?
  • Is authentication still set to “Password”?
  • It is best to create new folders in the webmail. Otherwise, make sure you have set the IMAP path prefix/root folder path of your email client to INBOX (enter in capital letters!). This is the only way to ensure that the folders and their contents are stored and synchronized correctly on the server.
  • If you create folders directly in the Apple Mail Client, never use periods in the folder name. This creates damage in the folder structure of your mailbox that is difficult to repair. If something like this has happened to you, please contact us, our server provider can try to repair it.

If email programs are behaving stubbornly:

  • Some email programs are a bit stubborn when it comes to changes, especially with Apple. Restarting the device and checking/repeating the changes usually helps.
  • For security, a test is recommended: Send an email from this mailbox to this mailbox. If everything arrives, it works.
  • Until the settings work on all devices, you can read and write your emails directly in the webmail.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.
