Remote maintenance for Mac and Windows PC
In exceptional cases, we can provide remote maintenance for your Mac or Windows PC for technical support. This will only take place in your presence and only after your explicit approval.
For this, we use the software Screens Connect from the provider Edovia Inc., 370 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.. You can find more information about this in our privacy policy.
How it works
After clicking the download button, install the helper application “Screens Connect” on your Mac or Windows PC.
When started, the program displays a one-time Connection ID and a Session Password, which you can provide to us by phone, SMS, iMessage, WhatsApp, or email.
A support session can only be established after this. You can see at any time when a connection is active and can terminate it yourself.
Security
- The connection is end-to-end encrypted.
- Access is exclusively granted with your current session ID and your one-time password.
- No connection is possible without your active consent.
- We assume that a current data backup is available on your Mac or PC (e.g., Apple Time Machine).
Data protection
- During the session, your screen content will be transmitted in order to provide the requested technical support.
- A permanent storage of screen content by us does not take place.
- The provider Edovia Inc. processes technically required connection data for the provision of the service.
- The use takes place exclusively for the execution of the support service requested by you.
Note
Remote maintenance is only started if you explicitly request it. Once the app is closed, no further access is possible.
After completion of the work, the program can be easily uninstalled.
