With this guide, you can create an API key yourself so that we can securely display your Google reviews on your homepage.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Open Google Cloud Console
   Go to console.cloud.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
2. Create a new project
   In the upper left, click “Select a project” → “New project”. Enter a name, e.g. “My company website”.
3. Activate Places API
   Menu item “APIs & Services → Library”, search for “Places API” and activate it.
4. Create API key
   Menu item “APIs & Services → Credentials”, there “Create credentials → API key”. The generated key is your personal API key.
5. Restrict API key (recommended)
   Select “Edit” for the key and enter your domain under Website restrictions, e.g. https://www.meinefirma.de/*
   Additionally, only allow the Places API.
6. Pass on the key
   Copy the key and send it to us securely (not publicly, e.g. via iMessage, WhatsApp). We will clarify the best way if necessary.

Frequently asked questions

• Costs?
  Google provides each account with a free quota (200 $ per month). This is normally sufficient for displaying reviews.
• No Google account?
  Create a new account at accounts.google.com/signup.
