Beware of unrealistic promises

Do not trust any “TOP 10 GUARANTEE IN 3 MONTHS ” – such claims usually come from dubious SEO providers.

Depending on the search term, a place in the top 10 Google results may be technically impossible or, on the contrary, relatively easy to achieve. The difficulty depends heavily on the competition, the subject area and your own.

It is realistic and sensible to focus on niches – this is where top rankings are more likely and often more relevant for your target group.

Examples from SEO practice:
  • ❌ Unrealistic: Top 10 for the term “car ” – too general, extremely high competition, hardly any opportunities for smaller providers.
  • ✅ Realistic: Top 10 for “Auto Kauf Golf gebraucht Hamburg ” – easily achievable with good optimization and local relevance.
  • ✅ Likely: If you have a strong brand (e.g. “Microsoft”) or offer a very specific product (e.g. “XP3000 drill”), top rankings are even very likely – provided the content is right.
